The delivery is a little blue gift bag, and inside that a plain looking glass bottle with aerosol spray top. The scent inside has top notes of herbal citrus like bergamot, oceanic middle notes of saltwater and sea grass, with base notes of driftwood like cedar and sandalwood. It evokes a subtle freshness that lingers gently, but will need to be reapplied if worn during a long day since the request that it not be too strong or pungent.]

[ as promised, dan heng arrives three hours later on the dot, dressed in a light bathrobe and carrying a small basket of snacks, as well as a silver bucket with a bottle of wine chilling in ice.

he's not wearing his usual cloudhymn disguise - it's tiring to maintain it since he faced that awful heart, and usually by the evening he's too exhausted to keep it up. so he's horns out tail out as he wanders into the crane's respite and waits patiently by the changing area, glancing around the space.

the baths are blessedly quiet tonight, and dan heng is thankful for that. ]

[ A man with dragon horns and tail is quite difficult to miss, thankfully. And though Kleken is only really expecting the horns, thanks to the image attached to Dan Heng's auction listing back when he'd first interacted with the man, the tail does do a rather excellent job of drawing the conman's attention over so that he can catch sight of those horns. Ah, now that he recalls, there was that ass picture in that other post... ]

[ He's likely an easy sight to spot himself, dark suit and hat traded in for a simple modesty towel wrapped around his waist. More noticeably, numerous large and translucent tentacles seemingly spawn out of his back, hovering in the air behind him and stretching around the ground to feel over the tiles. His pale white skin likely makes him look like a ghostly apparition in the steamy air of the baths, and his red eyes that almost seem to glow in the wet atmosphere don't exactly help with the imagery. ]

[ Though probably most ghosts don't call out to their victims with a smile that is equal parts bright and untrustworthy. Or maybe they do for that last bit. ]

[This year Rin TohSANTA has decided to deliver a select few people coal (it's actually just charcoal formed into lumps as a representation since actual coal, well... she didn't have any). In ding-dong-ditch style she'll knock at the door and drop a bag before trying to take off, and the tag attached doesn't have a name, but instead a drawn mascot. You're welcome to have your character catch her, miss her, or not be present at their residence when she drops it off.]

[ first off, she hadn't really anticipated giving him a gift at all. not until recently, really. and he really shouldn't have said that he has high expectations for her gift because now she has to actually wrack her brain for ideas. giving him something ocean-related is obviously the easiest, but how, exactly?

in the end though, kleken will encounter a little gift box wrapped in white ribbon at his doorstep on that fated day. in it is a simple set of earrings along with a note signed with a cute orange tako. oooo who could it be. ]

Did I ever return the earrings you lent me from last October?

[Sitting outside his door is a smart-looking folded box of black board sealed with string looped about a stylish orange faux gem clasp. Nestled within folds of orange packing paper lies a dark blue bottle of vintage wine, promised to be both rich and strong even for those who claim to have resistance to spirits. Alongside it sits a strange book Bakugo found in the library, titled "Esoterica Erotica", which he hasn't looked inside even a damn second. Yet somehow, Kleken's face came to mind when he picked the tome up. Multiple times. Finally, two little massage octopi, for all those times Bakugo's NOT going to massage Kleken's damn head.]

Hey Tentacles. I still don't trust a damn thing out of your mouth, but somehow, being around you is more comfortable than a lot of others in this shithole. I know I can rely on you more than you want to admit. Whenever this place comes up with more stupid events, it's easier tackling them with you. Don't take this sappy crap to mean I won't blast you in the wall whenever you piss me off. Enjoy your gifts.

[ At some point on Christmas morning, a knock will come on Kleken's door as a gift is delivered by a helpful resort staff member. The box is wrapped in deep eggplant-colored paper and tied with silver ribbon, a card sitting atop and tucked under the bow.

The box contains a bottle of sake, one of Keita's favorites, and a heavy, fully-wound pocketwatch. When opened, the inside of the watch's lid bears a motif of tentacles that look very much like Kleken's, shifting back and forth on the smooth metal.

The card reads, ]

I thought of writing that it's been a pleasure getting to know you this year, but that feels oddly too formal for the tenor of our relationship now. And yet it's also true; spending time with you is comfortable and I feel safe in your presence.

Here's to more mischief made together in the coming year.
